Phosphate and Plant Maturity

One of the roles of phosphate in a plant is to hasten plant maturity. The less available phosphate to the plant, the longer it takes for the crop to become mature. This was very clearly shown in a recent field where FREE pHOS 24 applied as a starter pop up fertilizer compared to a competitor product. Please look at the photo below. Not only is the ear of corn a lot larger and filled to the tip, it is farther along in maturity. This is because, although they were planted at the same time, the FREE PHOS 24 supplied adequate amounts of phosphate to the crop. Give this a try on your farms crops and see the difference for yourself!
