Calcium & Phosphate: Soil Nutrients that Deliver the Perfect Balance

There are two soil nutrients that have the strongest influence on plant growth and reproduction. These two are calcium and phosphate. Calcium has the most growth energy of any nutrient and phosphate has the strongest reproductive energy.

The biggest challenge in getting your soil in the best shape is to get these two nutrients in the proper amount. On a Morgan soil test, you need a minimum of 3,000 pounds of plant available calcium and 174 pounds of P which is 400 pounds of P2O5!

When you get to these levels you will have approximately equal and opposing amounts of growth to reproductive energy in the soil. That is a perfect balance of energy.
