KELPGROW mainly stimulates the development of adventitious rooting and apical dominance. Additional responses expected are an improvement of floral development, an increased fruit setting and improved health status of the plant.

It is widely accepted that the main contribution to crop improvement from seaweed products is due to the stimulation of the plants in producing more of their own endogenous hormones.

Our research has shown that the application of Kelpgrow stimulates the plant to better perform its own hormonal functions by acting through pathways similar to those enacted by auxin-like activities.

Because of the differences in the raw materials and in the manufacturing processes used to manufacture other kelp products, they will have a different composition. The use of temperatures above 100 °F (40 °C), the use of alkaline hydrolysis and the use of dehydration in manufacturing other kelps will have a negative impact on the performance of the product.

Because of the differences in the raw materials and in the manufacturing processes, the end products will have a different composition of the active ingredients. For example, cytokinins are fairly stable molecules and will not be affected much by extraction procedure. However auxins, and especially naturally occurring auxins, are less stable molecules. The use of temperatures above 100 °F (40 °C), the use of alkaline hydrolysis and the use of dehydration will have a negative impact on auxin levels of the end product.

Only mechanical processes at ambient temperature, have been shown to have the highest auxin-like activity.

Macrocystis can grow up to 100 feet (30 mt.) in length. It is the fastest growing plant in the ocean. Under ideal conditions it can grow as much as two feet (60 cm.) per day.

The kelp is harvested in the northern Pacific area where it finds ideal conditions: cold and pristine waters and long sunny days in the growing season. The kelp is hand harvested by a band of local natives with the rules of a tradition which dates back many centuries ago.

The superior qualities of the Macrocysis have been known very well by the local population who used it in their diet as well as for its healing properties.

Seaweed species, growth stage of the seaweed, and different climatologic conditions show different levels of the composition of the raw material. Furthermore, it is well known that seaweeds will act as filters of the waters where they grow and a polluted environment will cause the seaweed to retain an unacceptable content of heavy metals. Seaweed products derived from raw material harvested from different species and from different conditions can differ considerably, not only in the rates of the active ingredients, but also in the content of undesirable elements.

The kelp is washed first to get rid of all unwanted intrusions, then it passes through several machines which will squeeze and grind it until it becomes a liquid, green juice. This mechanical manufacturing process is the only way to maintain 100% integrity of the ingredients naturally contained in the live kelp. OJr unique processing is done at ambient temperature, without the use of heat , alkaline chemicals or dehydration which will damage the active ingredients.

Seaweed products can be extracted from the raw material using alkaline hydrolysis, dehydration, fermentation, freezing, particle size reduction, or a combination of the above processes. The various processes will have different impact on the natural compounds, in particular on the growth hormones composition of the end product.
